Elena Stafyla graduated from the Law School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and since 2002 she is practicing law. She also provides consultancy services concerning legal and bioethical issues regarding healthcare and health research. During the last three years, she participated in three EU Telemedicine and Integrated Health Care research programs, and she undertook the final evaluation of the data collected by countries participated regarding the legal and ethical dimension, the preparation of the informed consent, the review of the scientific protocol in terms of Greek law, and the contracts between the parties concerning the sharing of data collected. She is a co-founder of HealThink (Thessaloniki, Greece), an enterprise focused in Research and Development (R&D) in Medical Sciences. Since 2015 she is attending the Postgraduate Program at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, which is running at the Faculty of Medicine entitled “Modern Medical Acts: Juridical Regulation and Bioethics Dimension” and the subject of her thesis is “Data sharing in clinical trials”.
