Vassilis Kontozamanis, MSc, MBA, is a senior health policy and management expert with a track record that is highly relevant in the field of health policy, pharmaceuticals and the management of health care systems.
Vassilis has built on a double experience. Firstly, in managing the national pharmaceutical sector: as Vice President and President of the Greek National Organisation for Medicines (EOF) and as member of the Management Board of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). Secondly, in managing the health care system in Greece, as Chief Executive Officer of the 1st Regional Health Authority (Attica) in Greece and, as Secretary General of the Ministry of Health.
Currently, Vassilis is the Research Director at the Clinical Trials Observatory (CTO) of the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research (IOBE). He has also been a Research Director of IOBE from 1999 to 2004 and a Research Associate of the European Observatory for Health Care Systems.
